Dangle a Dictator, Gain a Nightmare

The new year has already produced a heavy workload. As I've said before and I am not complaining...I hope it continues. So far, I've had Jan 1st off...Yesterday and that was a suprise day off due to a North American flight running 24 hours late...and my next day off is Jan 15th. I've got bills to pay, goals to meet and money to save.

It has been a while since I last blogged and a lot has happened in the world since my last brain dropping online. First, my thoughts on world events:

President Saddam Hussein is dropped and hung from a rope: I'm not so sure at this point that this was such a brilliant idea. We probably should've had him convicted for his crimes and then put back into power. Kind of like Clinton. But it would've been more beneficial to the world if Saddam were to take control of Iraq again as he was the only one in recent history who could actually control the people in that country. With his unexpected comfort during his hanging, I wonder if he stood there and thought in his last few moments...Bush thought he won....now who has the last laugh?

Democrats take the Congress: I was not opposed to this as the Republicans did need a severe wake up call as they appeared to have their eyes wide shut and asleep at the wheel. Now, the Democrats are already starting to piss me off. Kennedy wants socialized health care and has some strange idea that we'll have a better medical system and still maintain the levels of advanced care that we currently sustain. Folks...is it any wonder why so many very wealthy people come to America for health care? They never go to Denmark, England, Canada, Germany, etc... Why??? Because Socialized health care may take care of colds and flu for the masses but it doesn't produce shit for high tech healing. Put in some tort reforms and watch the doctors insurance bills drop. Then...you might see some affordable healthcare while continuing to develope new science that can improve lives. On top of that, we are looking at a tax increase around 2010 when Bush's cut may be removed. OK...Lets talk history for a second. Tax increases don't improve the economy. The only reason they didn't play a major role in the 90's economy was because of a Tech Boom (.com bubble) and it burst. What happened after the burst? The higher taxes were lowered and the economy took off like a bat out of hell. A recession only lasted 2 quarters....Not bad at all.

If you don't have Sirius or XM Radio by now, it's time to go get it. I've been listening to FM more than I want to so my cell phone can charge. My radio is powered from the lighter and I'm too lazy to go get a split end power cord. Anyway, the commercials are enough to make me want to drive off the road and if I don't hit anything that kills me...I'd shoot myself just to end the madness. How can Infinity or Clear Channel (the owners of an overwhelming majority of radio stations) possibly think that by adding HD to the current radio system that it's going to improve? With all the commercials bringing you HD sound...who cares...it's still lousy content...so what if it sounds clear! By the way, I'm jumping on the predictions bandwagon for a second and predicting a merger between Sirius and XM. Serious is growing so strong and XM is struggling, the competition will probably end sometime within the next couple of years and I think you'll see a Sirius on top with a product that delivers excellent content. (Also note - XM is partly owned by Clear Channel and is now broadcasting commercials on some of their music stations - Sick)

I've been watching Obanair.com a lot lately and happened to run into it's creator. Justus is looking great and sounding happy as a clam. Great to see you so happy. I also have no idea what website you registered so feel free to fill me in.

Conlin is also slow to update though he did recently post a new blog. Jeff...Poetry...There are many who adore and appreciate poetry. I on the other hand, don't think with such depth, and I'm ok with admitting that...I do enjoy the personal touch that comes out each time you spill your thoughts onto the web. The pictures do look like you're enjoying your life and my god...I'm so happy to see it.

Dinner this Friday night with Rob...I can't wait. I was going to be able to drink, however I now have to work late that night. Oh well...I'll take the best of both worlds and make a deposit the next day.

Flying....not much lately. Been too busy with work and either the weather or the planes are not available. Maybe later this month??? I HOPE!!!

And finally...Craig called....he's going to court with his ex on January 25th. Finally...this long divorce might come to an end.
