State of the Onion

Have you ever wondered what this country would be like if Democrats and Republicans actually dropped the party line politics and did what was right for the country? During Bush's State of the Union, he actually had some bright ideas. But, because parties play politics...the good ideas will likely never see the light of day and at the end of the day, both of our big political parties will point fingers and say ha, gotcha...just like kids playing in a school yard. Now, Iraq is still a mess and we've been there for quite a while with no significant sign of leaving. Bush wants more time...I'm all for it if there is some shred of evidence that we'll use that time wisely. I don't believe it would be smart for an immediate pull out....but a slow draw back might work. I figure...the Iraqi people have shown to be too wacked out for peaceful living....so let them shoot each other up and we'll keep our own soldiers alive. Cold...sure...but the status quo isn't making all that much of a difference at this point. Well...that and my Jewieness doesn't have a huge issue with Arabs concentrating on killing each other instead of Israel.

Back to an idea Bush had on health care. He wanted to give tax breaks to those of us who buy our own and those of use who pay additional costs even though our employers pay the bulk of it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that was my understanding of his idea. Frankly....I do think this would provide more people with healthcare coverage and it would do it in a manner that would not cause the healthcare system to suffer a loss of quality. I also agree that healthcare should be up to doctors and patients...not Insurance and especially not a Government Controlled Socialized Healthcare System. And...tort reform....did anybody else notice how one side of the house supports it and the other side sat silent? Who the hell votes for anybody that supports more law suits? People....that is why costs rise! Costs go up because Law suits get bigger and companies have to pay more. Sure...there are a lot of crooked CEO's and Executives making way more than a human would ever need.....but the biggest reason for companies to raise their prices might just have to do with the higher costs of doing business and the extreme fears of legal battles.

I hate snow! Winter has finally arrived and though I certainly appreciated and enjoyed the long fall season....I still hate winter and can not wait for spring.

Did I mention that my flight lessons have ground to a halt? Oh yeah...Weather Related....can't do a damn thing until I can find a day where I'm available, a plane is available and there is no forcast for temps that might cause freezing...high winds....snow and heavy cloud coverage. Come on Spring....come early this year. If that F&^%ing Ground Hog sees his shadow again...I'm going to be tempted to go find his ass and shave him so he freezes. Do you realize how many times that little SH^T has seen his shadow in the past decade. He needs to break that habit. If I can quit my nail chewing...then that little fur ball can grow some Gonads and stand up to his own shadow. It's ok...I'm not bitter. Everything is fine.

I went out and purchased this El Cheapo accounting software so I keep better track of my business. There is a lesson that I learned....and I'll just have to keep learning it over and over again throughout life. You get what you pay for. Funny thing is...my Laptop is Freaking awesome and it didn't cost half as much as comparable brand name machines. Hence...why this lesson is so tough to grasp. Oh well...life goes on and now I'm going to purchase a more expensive software that will actually do what I want it to do. And if not....I'll give up...shave my own ass and freeze.

Craig is in court today with his future ex wife. I can't wait to hear the results. I wanted to go watch the festivies and eat popcorn while the hearing took place. But...it's a day off and since I haven't had too many of them lately...I need to catch up with my own life. That includes catching up with my business accounting.....and today...that means finding, installing and using a software that is going to have to keep my business accounting up, with how fast I can work.

I believe the future Ex Mrs. Ingram cancelled her appearance. Evidently, she said that she had to go to work.
