I was out in Vegas this weekend for ATA. I handled a charter that took a bunch of Execs from the Wynn Hotel down to St. Thomas for a cruise. The Wynn Hotel is beautiful and it was great to have them as a customer. For the record, I stayed at the Hampton Inn near the airport. Thanks ATA! I can't complain though, I took Sheri out there with me and she and I did have some time to drive out to Red Rock Canyon, eat some fine Sushi at a killer restaurant in the Hilton, and even managed to squeeze in some gambling. I didn't win big, but I did walk away from the table ahead and that is always a great thing.
The basement floor is now dry. I wouldn't recommend American Waterproofers Inc. based on their customer service skills, however the guys who came out to do the labor were great. I don't think we'll end up with any more water from now on and that itself is a good thing. C & F construction sent us a letter stating that they officially are not responsible for our water problem, nor will they pay for any repairs that we had done. Well...that sounds all tough, but I'll let an attorney decide if we have a case, not them.
I completed my Long Cross Country on Monday. The wind was a bitch! I fought to maintain course direction and level wings the entire 2.8 hours in flight. I flew from LNS to EVY and then on to GED. Once I attacked the runway at GED, I taxied back out and did a non-stop 1 hour flight back to LNS. I was very pleased with my ability to find my way to a new airport and more importantly, find my way home using a different route over some unfamiliar territory. Next comes another night flight followed by some review flights. Once I do that, it's on to the FAA Practical Skills Test. Nervous...Yes! Ready to get me certificate....YES!
Yesterday, I worked IAD in the morning, BWI in the afternoon and came home to PA. Once I got home, I received a call from Bob, asking if I could go back down to IAD and cover 2 more flights late at night. I clocked over 500 miles and worked 4 flights at 2 airports in 2 different states and did this all within 14 hours time. I did pull off the road on my way home into a parking lot at the Pikesville, MD Hilton for a 30 minute nap @ 0200L this morning.
Today was my Bi-Annual Teeth Care Ritual at the Dentist. All looks good there....Thank God!
