I don't believe in this kind of change

I know I haven't blogged in forever and a day. I also don't know when the next time will be. Maybe tomorrow, maybe October....who knows when I'll be in the mood to share my thoughts in paragraph format? Facebook has changed that since I know post thoughts and messages 2-3 times per day.

The point of this blog is this:

I'm begging the American citizens to bring common sense back into politics. Now, I know that is tough to do since so many American's have been tragically born without an ounce of common sense, but there are plenty of us that still have it and may have been clouded by raw emotion during this last election. I really don't think the majority of Americans voted for Obama because the "Change" we wanted had to do with a massive Cap and Tax bill where we all get to pay more for the honor of paying more for insignificant results on climate change. Besides, It's July 10th and my fucking windows are open because it's just not that hot outside. That "Climate" bill is worthless and for the first time, even Greenpeace and I are in agreement.

Now, the beating drum from the White House is pounding the unsettling sounds of Healtcare Reform. Well beyond 1 Trillion dollars to cover 16 million and leave the rest of the uninsured....well...uninsured. So that's about 52K per person on healthcare. How is that efficient and cost effective. Let's not forget that we can't afford it as a nation because we are already printing money that we'll have to pay for and we're borrowing money like it's going out of style. This new leader who once spoke of hope and change is using tactics that will leave us with a bill that we can't afford to pay. Tax on ALL Americans is going to go up on everything from what we eat, how we stay warm or cool, the water we drink and clean with and anywhere else the concerned leaders in Washington can find a way to bleed us for any other "change" we have left in our pockets. The era of Hope began with a whopping $500 to your pockets and will end with the hemorrhaging of thousands over the next 3.5 years. Here's a shocker for you. Even George Soros is concerned about the government spending.

Did anyone notice that fuel prices are rising? How about that there are missiles being test fired by North Korea during our 4th of July fireworks? Where is the outrage? Who has time for outrage....Michael Jackson died and we need over 2 weeks of news coverage. Rest in Peace MJ...great...that took 2 seconds to type. Where are your minds America? Take off the rose colored glasses and focus on what is happening all around you! For the love of God...Please don't allow this nation to slide to the point where our enemies kick us in the balls with Nuclear weapons just to wake us up again. Please don't sleep through insane government spending on programs that we can't afford and will tax us to the brink of insanity. Couple that with inflation on the money we've printed and we have a situation that is WAY worse than the shit fest that George W. Bush left us with. Americans wanted change because they were tired of the way Bush ran the country. The only real difference between Bush and Obama is that Obama is doing all the same crap Bush did....only he's doing it at Warp Speed.

Oh and...GM is not out of Bankruptcy. Now they'll build all the cars the administration tells them that we the consumers want. For all of you consumers who can't think for yourselves anymore....I hope you enjoy the newer smaller, more expensive cars that you're being told that you'll like. As for me...I'm sticking with my Honda Accord.

The "New" New Deal

.....and they called Bush a liar! I may not be a GW Bush fan especially after he threw in all of our two cents towards banks that took the money and ran to Vegas. Well, that and a boat load of other spending he was responsible for. He's gone and we have Hope and Change. Obama is in charge and he apparently suffers from a short memory, or he must have skipped class and played basketball on the days they taught US History. It may also be possible that he's fully aware of history and is being completely dishonest to fleece the public in favor of old world style liberal spending and a march towards socialism. Whatever the case, he has been boldly speaking out about the urgency of spending now. He's spreading fear, doom and gloom smoother than you can spread warm butter on bread. There is a big problem with his message though. See, his message is that this economy is the worst since the Great Depression, and the solution is Government Spending (sorry, stimulus) on a massive scale. During his press conference, he talked about the urgency of getting this bill passed with no time for debate. "The time for debate has past..." He talked about how there are so many economists who agree that we must spend our way out of this mess and do it right away. He talked about the New Deal and how there are some who think FDR's spending with the New Deal prolonged the Depression, but don't listen to that, because it's not true. As it turns out, there is a lot of truth to that notion. I found a lot of that truth in my investigation into the New Deal. Some of my research took me to a place that I never thought I would find anything negative about FDR's rescue plans...The New York Times. Even further research took me to another liberal leaning periodical, US News and World Report. Obama also said "there is no disagreement, we need action by our government, a recovery plan that will help jump start the economy." Apparently, there are a whole bunch of economists who disagree.

It would be pointless to post every single link that agrees with my argument as there are an equal amount of links that counter it. My point in this was to debunk Obama's belief that there is no disagreement on this concept. There certainly is and to spend Trillions on Trial and Error instead of spending far less on what has actually worked in the past is in my opinion, foolishly optimistic and dangerously irresponsible. To that note, let's talk about what has worked in the past. Obama keeps using the campaign talking points about "failed policies of the past." Lets look at facts before we permanently rewrite history. The economy Reagan inherited was far worse. He slashed TAX RATES, which immediately put money in people's pockets. This in turn flooded people's wallets with their own income and in turn, tax revenues to the government skyrocketed. The economy moved forward and the country had sustained growth for a very long period of time. This was done without costing the tax payers. Unfortunately, during his term, the Dems held both houses in Congress and porked the hell out of every bill that crossed his desk. He had to sign many into law as those same pork laden bills also included policies he supported and needed. Fast Forward to Bush #2. He inherited a slumping economy and his answer was to drop the TAX RATES again (for everyone, not just the rich) and the economy bounced back. During his term, we had 6 Years of growth while fighting separate wars. He signed spending bills with Republican pork and in turn, looked like a fool on the way out of office. But, is a tax rate cut really a failure of a policy? It's been tried, tested and proven to work. FDR's trial and error ended with massive spending with slow and limited success with levels of fantastic failure. Spending Trillions for a "We hope it will work".....just goes to show you what a waste of money ivy league education can be. The tax relief we'll see won't even be a rate cut which drives way more money into the working man's wallet than a check for $500-$1000.

If I'm wrong and this mess turns out great because of him, then I'll gladly eat crow. If not, then we're spending way too much and we've fucked ourselves royally. Oh, and why is it the Stimulus bill has provisions for universal healthcare? Shouldn't that be debated separately instead of quietly crammed down our throats? Don't be so quick to judge Bush for his administration's behavior, Obama is proving to be even more under-handed and within record time.

Jim Jones is in the House!

Hope and Change is what were told. An era of HOPE and an era of Responsibility has come. So far, I'm hearing nothing but scare tactics. "We must pass this massive bill right now or the economy will never get better." I'm sorry...what??? NEVER??? This piece of shit bill with hundreds of Billions in absolute PORK is the only solution to keep us from endless economic depression? How is building a dog park in Chula Vista, CA going to save our economy? How is 50 million going to the endowment for the arts going to save this economy? The polls alone show us that 35% of this nation now approves this bill. We all know how fat this pig of a bill is, yet we are being told that if it doesn't pass right now, our entire universe will crumble and we'll never be able to dig out. That is bullshit! We are being told, "Now is not the time to debate, we must act quickly!" Instead of responsibly removing complete waste from this bill, we must pass it now! Do not listen to anyone who tells you different....they don't know what those in the government know. Forget Common Sense!!!! It's not as intelligent as our trustworthy leaders. He's going as far as wanting to silence those who have differing opinions to the public. He wants us to trust him and he'll be the one to listen to differing opinions...we, the public, should just blindly support this bill. The ability to openly debate is a founding principle of this country. If we didn't have this principle, you would have No President Obama. Think about it....how could he have been elected if he were silenced because the brilliant trustworthy leaders in government told us they knew best.

This country voted for change indeed. This country did not vote for censorship. This country did not vote for Socialism. This country voted out republicans because they wasted so much money. This country voted out republicans because the public believes that the government was not straight with them. Our new government is not being straight with us. This is worse than Change! This lacks any Hope because it's fear mongering on a massive scale! We are being told that 800 Billion Dollars will turn this ship around. Most people don't even realize how much money that really is. I'm thrilled that details of this bill are being questioned. I'm thrilled that people aren't just rolling over and saying OK to waste of historic proportions. You can spend over 4 Million dollars a year since Columbus discovered America and still not exceed the amount in this bill. Even more pathetic is that there isn't jack shit in this bill that addresses the mortgage crisis which put us into this mess in the first place.

Obama is on TV telling us not to listen to people. Since when does a President tell a free people who they should listen to? If this isn't scary, I don't know what is. Even the most liberal Americans should take issue with this. If Bush told them who not to listen to, there would have been outrage in the streets. If you are a Democrat with another Bush in the white house and your told that you should not listen to CNN or NBC and that Bush knows what's best for you and you need to trust him. No Bush ever went as far as telling you what is media is best for you. He did take your trust and he broke it. You wanted a leader you could trust, who doesn't? But, how much of your freedom do you want to put in the hands of the government so you can feel like you have trustworthy leader? We must be able to debate in this nation! It doesn't' matter how good a speaker is, if the message is to silence opposing views, that speaker is a threat to your most basic rights.

Last night, he said Stimulus is spending and then laughed at those who don't to spend so much. Hey Jackass....The Government is NOT the economy. The goal is to get the PEOPLE to spend as the PEOPLE make up the ECONOMY. Having the government take out massive loans to spend trillions (TARP plus the 2009 Recovery Act) of the people's future money is not the fastest, most cost efficient way to get people to spend. As a citizen, would you rather have more money in every paycheck starting next week (which will exceed $1000 for the year) or would you rather they send you a check for $500-1000? Would you rather have corporate tax rates cut immediately to give the company you work for a chance to keep your ass employed, or keep the taxes high, have them lay your ass off and then wait for unemployment to take care of you until money from the government eventually hits businesses in your area and they begin to hire again?

People....for the love of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.....WAKE UP!

A Fresh Ass on the Throne

Karma can be somewhat of a bitch. Had Obama known that John Roberts was going to give him his Presidential Oath of office, he might not have voted against him for the Supreme Court. Kind of hard to tell, but Roberts ultimately returned the favor. Every time Obama's Oath is replayed throughout history, we'll always hear a mush mouthed mess. Was it intended? Probably not, but that may just be Karma.

Last night, I was discussing the inauguration with someone who was very excited about both the history making achievement of Barak Obama, and the mere fact that he walks on water and can part the Potomac River with the blink of an eye. This person asked me if I watched it on TV, which I did. I was glued to the TV. I was then asked my thoughts. As true to what I've said many times before, I'm not impressed. The speech was good, though not amazing. It lacked a memorable phrase that can be in scripted in marble for all of the world to remember. It also lacked substance. The substance that was missing from every campaign speech, debate, etc... I want to hear just what it is that he is planning. Planning "Change" doesn't define anything. OK, so you don't like Bush, got it. You aren't happy with where the country is right now...Great...I understand that. We need Change! Great...what exactly does that mean? In this discussion, I mentioned how glad I was to hear the word, "Responsibility." I was however, disappointed to find that he was not really hammering the point of individual responsibility. He was talking more about citizens being responsible for other citizens. It was more along the lines of Kennedy's ask not speech. This is where I have big problems in swallowing the rhetoric. Though the thought of a nation where it's people care for their neighbors is admirable and I agree with the concept whole hearted, I also feel we all as individuals need to be responsible to ourselves. How can we focus on our neighbors if we can't even save for our own homes, education, retirements, etc...?

I told this person that I used to be very poor. I was a lousy student managed to graduate high school at the bottom of my class. I went out in the world and fell flat on my ass. At no point did anyone give me shit in terms of financial assistance. I flushed much of my own savings down the toilet. I went month to month in a shitbag apartment where I had eviction notices on my door when I had to choose which bills I would pay vs the rent. Buying groceries was a luxury. I told this person that I climbed my way out of it. No help from anyone, No assistance from the government. I put myself in that position and I had to take responsibility for my actions and claw my way out of it. The response I had when told this story was surprising. "You had help." No, I didn't. "Yes, you had to have had help." No, I didn't, and why would I be required to have help? "Somebody had to have helped you." No, seriously....it is possible for people in this country to make it on their own. Then came the bombshell....."Obama can do it, or people like me (Foreign) could have that background, but not you! (Because I'm WHITE and MALE.)" How about that....I'm a victim of racism because I'm white and struggled in life!!! I'm being judged not by the content of my character but by the color of my skin. (That and he meat stick that hangs between my legs)

This is the belief system that I have issues with. It is so hard for people to believe that they as individuals can accomplish the hard task of personal responsibility. They have been given and gladly drank the Kool Aide that dictates that you can't do it unless it's done together. "Yes we can" is all well and good....but "Yes you can" shouldn't be seen as irresponsible governance. Yes, even under the old and evil empires of Bush and Clinton....I was able to climb from the bottom of the pit which I dug for myself. If you don't learn from your own mistakes, how are you ever going to learn? So many people will say that there is nothing wrong with help and some people need a hand. Yes, emotional help is amazing and God Bless of my friends and family who were there when I needed them most. Giving money or diving in to solve the problems that they likely created is not going to teach them out to fix them, nor how to prevent themselves from digging another deep hole to fall into.

Should we take care of those who are not capable of taking care of themselves? YES WE SHOULD. Are millions of Americans physically capable of working hard to fix their own messes? YES THEY CAN. Should we as Americans spend our hard earned wages in the form of taxes to enable people who won't change because they are prevented from taking responsibility for their own failures? FUCK THAT SHIT!

When asked why I'm not excited about America's great new Orator, this is why. The words are warm, comforting and inspirational....but they don't point every American in the direction of personal responsibility. "It's my fault...I own the problem and It's my responsibility to fix it." These are the words that can save our country. These are the words the prevent massive bailouts and stimulus packages that will cost us trillions in the future. These are the words that break down into one 3 word phrase that changes the lives of individuals. "YES I CAN." We can be our brother's keeper, we can love thy neighbor....but we can not lose sight of taking responsibility for our own actions.

Back to Kennedy for a moment. People tend to be selective when it comes to understanding history. Back when he was asking what you could do for your country, this nation was full of citizens that took great pride in working. With the help of entitlement programs, fast forward a few decades and we have way too many people who take advantage of the systems in place. If you have a brain and a body that functions, you are capable of not only taking care of yourself as so many Americans took pride in back when Kennedy was in office, but they were also motivated to "Do for their country." Don't misunderstand, I'm not accusing everyone who is on welfare of being lazy, but there are many who in fact are....lazy. If you're living off of government programs, have been doing it for several years and take no action to change your circumstances...then we as a nation are not doing what is right, in continuing to throw money and resources at you. If you fall on hard times and need a hand, but take full action to climb out, then you are the people who deserve the assistance that we tax payers "voluntarily" pay into.
